ProductWork together, and bring your own key
Canvases stop being single-player. Invite people by email as editors or viewers, and see everyone's live cursor while you work. And if you already have API keys, you can now use them instead of the built-in allowance.
- Live presence: everyone on a canvas appears with a named cursor, in real time
- Invites: add editors or viewers to any canvas from the People dialog
- Bring your own key: connect an Anthropic, OpenAI or Google API key, stored encrypted, billed by your provider, and it never touches your free allowance
- Manage subscription: view invoices, change plan or cancel from the account menu
InterfaceQuieter cards, a proper detail panel, and PowerPoint support
A second pass on node cards: less chrome, more content. Images and PDFs now fill the card face edge to edge, actions appear on hover, and the detail panel got a full redesign with a clearer header and per-type accents.
- Chat shelf: your conversations live in a slim rail with unread and streaming states, one hover away
- PowerPoint files parse into slide text, and PDFs render sharp on high-density screens
- The layout now adapts properly to tablets
- Fixed: SVG visuals could render as an empty card
ProductPro plans, sharing, and the paste-to-canvas on-ramp
Expanvas Pro is live: £12 a month or £120 a year, with a visible usage meter in the account menu. The free tier stays free, with 50 messages a month.
- Share links: publish a read-only snapshot of any canvas and send the URL to anyone, no account needed
- Import a conversation: paste from claude.ai or ChatGPT and the artifacts materialise as nodes
- Export any canvas as a PNG image or a Markdown bundle
- Suggested connections: when an answer lands, Expanvas quietly proposes links to nearby nodes, accept or dismiss on the label
- Starter templates: literature review, competitive analysis and decision doc canvases, one click from the canvas switcher
InterfaceSoft Stack interface refresh
The biggest visual change since launch. The canvas moves to the Soft Stack system: depth communicates hierarchy, icon chips carry identity, and the whole surface is calmer to spend a day in.
- New node cards with provenance footers, so every card shows which model made it and when
- Sections for grouping related nodes and moving them as one
- Upgraded edges with endpoint dots and clearer labels
- Error recovery with retry: a failed response keeps its place on the canvas and can be re-run
- Light theme overhaul to match the new system
Under the hoodFoundations for launch
Less visible, just as important.
- Rate limiting on the AI proxy to keep the service fair and stable
- Usage metering, groundwork for the Pro tier's visible token meter
- An automated test suite and continuous integration on every change
